Khaleda Zia assassination attempt case: Accused Zayed Khan-Joy-Saju Khadem

Film actor Zayed Khan, actor Shahriar Nazim Joy, Saju Khadem 50 people have been charged with the attack on BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's convoy on April 20, 2015.

On Sunday (August 25), band artist Asif Imam filed the case in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi's court. The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and directed the Motijheel Police to accept the complaint as a statement.

The notable accused in the case are – Sheikh Salim, Sheikh Helal, Colonel Farooq Khan, Fazle Noor Tapas, Nixon Chowdhury, Said Khokon, Hasanul Haque Inu, Rashed Khan Menon, BAFUF President Kazi Salauddin, ist Shaban Mahmud and others.

In the complaint of the case, the plaintiff mentioned that during the election campaign on April 20, 2015, the accused attacked the convoy of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia with weapons in order to kill her during the road meeting organized in front of the BNP office. At that time, Khaleda vandalized 12-14 cars of Zia's convoy, set fire to 4 motorcycles and beat the activists. Meanwhile, Khaleda Zia's security guards were injured. Pedestrians were injured when the accused threw bricks and stones at Khaleda Zia.
