Former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy will be inducted into the Eagles’ Hall of Fame, the team announced Saturday. McCoy will inducted on Nov. 3, when the Eagles host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday Night Football.
McCoy began his NFL career with the Eagles when Philadelphia selected him in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He began his career as a backup running back to veteran rusher and fellow Eagles Hall of Famer Brian Westbrook but earned his first NFL start while Westbrook was injured. He would go on to rush for 637 yards as a rookie, setting the team’s rookie rushing record.

McCoy would rush for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his second season, rushing for over 1,000 in four of his six seasons as an Eagle. McCoy put together his best season in 2013 when he led the NFL with 1,607 yards while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. This season would also go down as the Eagles’ single-season rushing record.
“LeSean was an incredibly gifted player who always approached the game with great joy and enthusiasm,” said Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. “His elusiveness as a dual-threat back, coupled with his uncanny ability to make breathtaking plays, captivated everyone who had the privilege of watching him compete.”
Over his time with the Eagles, McCoy carried the ball 1,461 times for 6,792 yards and 44 touchdowns. He is the Eagles’ all-time leader in rushing yards, second in carries, and third in rushing touchdowns.
“His energy was contagious, but more importantly, it was his competitive spirit and commitment to being a great teammate that truly shaped his legacy as one of our league’s all-time greats,” Lurie added. “We look forward to celebrating LeSean’s remarkable career when he is rightfully enshrined in the Eagles Hall of Fame on November 3.”

He had single-season stints with both the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to end his career, winning Super Bowls with each team. He announced his retirement in October 2021.
McCoy finished his career with 11,102 rushing yards and 73 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 518 passes for 3,898 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air, for a total of 15,000 yards from scrimmage. He was a first-time All-Pro twice, a six-time Pro Bowler, and a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
