President's call to the countrymen to stand by the flood affected people

President Md. Sahabuddin said that the government is making all-out efforts to help the flood-affected people. He also called upon the people of the country to stand by the Banvasis. He said this while exchanging greetings with Hindus at Bangabhaban on the occasion of Janmashtami on Monday (August 26).

Mentioning that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony, he said, to accelerate progress and prosperity, existing harmony and mutual amity in the society should be kept intact. The Constitution guarantees equal rights to all citizens.

The President also said that to move the country forward, regardless of religion and caste, we must forget the differences and work together. This year's Janmashtami pledge is to build a progressive and peaceful social system for the new generation in the bond of mutual sympathy, harmony and human values.
