The names of 174 people are in the list of missing persons

At least 174 people are missing since a fire broke out at Gazi Group's tire manufacturing factory at Rupsi in Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj. Their relatives have claimed so.

Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense (Dhaka) Lt. Col. Rezaul Karim said that a list of 174 people has been made missing till 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

He said the relatives, who are claiming that their family members are missing, came to the factory during the looting last night. We have made a draft list of them. There is no way to verify it at the moment. I am writing down the names and addresses of the relatives who are claiming. So far this list has reached 174 people.

This fire service official said that a six-storey building of the factory was also on fire around two o'clock. It is not possible to enter the buildings as the fire is not completely under control. Once the fire is out, they will go inside the building. Then it will be understood whether someone has burned to death or not. So far 12 units of fire service are working to control the fire.

Meanwhile, some of the relatives in front of the factory in search of the missing said that their relatives had come to the factory at various times yesterday. None of them are factory workers. They were not found later. Mobile phones are also off since night.

The name of an agro farm shepherd is in the missing list. Shaon (12), a worker in a cement factory Abdur Rahman (30), a businessman Md. Sujan (28), her sister Mafia Begum (30), sister's husband Md. Ratan (35), Hasan Ali (32), a mason from Baralu area, his two friends Ahid (32), Rubel (30), Mudidokani Shahadat Sikder (29), his brother Sabbir Sikder (25) and many others.

Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Ahsan Mahmud said that the government will take action in the case of arson and looting. They are careful that no one gets involved in looting again.
