Police have strengthened security in all power plants and installations of rural electricity in the country to avoid untoward incidents, chaos and vandalism.
Assistant Inspector General (AIG) (Media and PR) Inamul Haque Sagar of Police Headquarters informed this information on Tuesday (August 27) afternoon.
It is known that the rural electrification board (REB) and Palli Vidyut Samiti were given a 72-hour ultimatum last Saturday (August 24) to implement the two-point demand to implement the uniform service code and to regularize the jobs of contractual and irregular workers and to implement the commitment given by the ministry. Officers-employees. That ultimatum expires today.
It is feared that if the demands are not met, the employees of the association may go on a complete strike. In that case, a large population of the country may experience blackout. That is why the police have taken this precautionary measure in advance.
It should be noted that Palli Vidyut Samiti provides electricity to more than 36 million customers in 80 percent of rural areas, which is the highest in terms of electricity supply.
