The death of Ishaq Ali Khan Panna, the former Central General Secretary of Chhatra League and member of the executive committee of Pirojpur District Awami League, while fleeing to India, was reported earlier. However, there were various reports about the cause of his death.

Panna's body is now in the Indian state of Meghalaya and police sources said she was strangulated to death. It is also reported that multiple injury marks were found on his body.

Ishaq Ali Khan Panna, the leader of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Awami League party — who fled the country after the fall of Hasina's government — was found dead near the Bangladesh border in Meghalaya, the Meghalaya police said in a press release on Thursday.

Several police sources in the state said Panna's post-mortem report indicated that she was strangulated to death.

The semi-decomposed body of Ishaq Ali Khan Panna was found in a betel nut orchard in Dona Bhoi village of East Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya on August 26, Meghalaya Police said. This area is one and a half kilometers from the India-Bangladesh border.

Sources also said that the body was identified from the passport carried by Panna.

Several police sources also said that the post-mortem report said that he died due to suffocation. According to the report, 'the cause of death was asphyxiation due to suffocation'.

Sources also said that his body has been sent for forensic analysis.

According to police sources, Ishaq Ali Khan Panna also has multiple injury marks on his body. The post-mortem report also mentioned that he had bruises and bruises on his forehead.

Incidentally, since Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country on August 5, Ishaq Ali Khan Panna was hiding in the capital Dhaka. Later he decided to cross the border from Sylhet to India.
