Schools and colleges have been closed in Hyderabad due to continuous rains. Many important roads of the city are submerged under water. Many agricultural lands have been damaged. Many trains have also been canceled due to rain.

News agency PTI reported that three people are still missing in Andhra Pradesh. It is feared that they were swept away by the flood waters. They are being searched. Besides, one person is also missing in Telangana. South Central Railway has canceled 140 trains due to floods. 97 trains have been diverted. Many passengers and tourists are facing problems due to train cancellation. More than 6,000 people are reported to be stranded at various stations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The National Disaster Response Force is carrying out rescue operations in both the states. At least 17,000 people have been evacuated from the flooded coastal areas to safer places. Many relief camps have also been opened for their shelter. Landslides occurred in several areas of Andhra Pradesh. The city of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh was the worst affected by the floods. More than two lakh people are believed to have been affected by the floods in that city alone. Five people were killed in a landslide at Moglarajapuram in Vijayawada. Five people were killed when large rocks fell on two houses due to rain.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already spoken to the Chief Ministers of the two states to take stock of the flood situation in Andhra and Telangana. On Sunday night, he contacted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on telephone. The Prime Minister has assured all help from the Center to both the states to deal with the flood situation.
