1206 educational institutions were affected by the flood

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (MAUSI) said that 1206 educational institutions have been affected by the floods in the south-eastern part of the country. The financial amount of loss is 37 crore 38 lakh 70 thousand 800 taka. Maushi said that it will not be possible to start classes in 565 of these affected institutions.

These information came out in a post-flood report of Maushi on Monday.

In that report, 844 educational institutions of Chittagong region have suffered a loss of 24 crore 94 lakh 85 thousand 800 taka. It also said that classes are currently running in 618 educational institutions in the region. It is not possible to start classes in the rest of the institutes.

The report also said that Noakhali district has suffered the most damage in Chittagong region. In this district, 563 educational institutions have suffered a loss of Tk 12 crore 26 lakh. Apart from this, 11 crore 65 lakh 5 thousand 800 taka was incurred in 281 educational institutions in Feni and 1 crore 3 lakh 80 thousand taka in 25 educational institutions in Chittagong.

Maushi said that a total of 334 educational institutions have been damaged in the Comilla region, with a financial amount of Tk 12 crore 15 lakh 65 thousand. Classes are currently running in 20 educational institutions in the region. In the remaining 314 it is not possible to start teaching now.

Within the Comilla region, 54 educational institutions in Lakshmipur, 40 in Chandpur, 240 in Comilla have been damaged. Among them, classes are running in 17 educational institutions in Comilla district. The remaining 223 classes have become inoperable. Classes are running in 3 Chandpur. The remaining 37 are in non-teaching condition.

A total of 28 educational institutions in Sylhet region have suffered a loss of Tk 28 lakh 20 thousand. However, teaching is ongoing in 28 institutions in this region.
