The new chairman of Grameen Bank is Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury

Private University North South University School of Business and Economics Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury has been given the responsibility of the chairman of Grameen Bank. On Tuesday (September 3), the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance issued a notification in this regard.

It is said that according to Section (9) (1) (a) and 10 (1) of the Grameen Bank Act, 2013, the professor of the School of Business and Economics of North South University. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury has been appointed as Director and Chairman in the Board of Directors of Grameen Bank. Appointed for 3 years from the date of his joining.

The notification also mentioned that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately. Earlier, on August 20, the Financial Institutions Department canceled the appointment of former chairman AKM Saiful Majid of Grameen Bank. Since then the post of chairman of the bank was vacant.
