GDP growth is 1.22 percent, the lowest in four years

Bangladesh's gross domestic product or GDP has increased by 9.22 percent in the fiscal year 2021-27, which is the lowest in four years. The per capita income of the people of the country is reduced to $ 2,000, which was previously estimated at $ 2,000.

According to the final estimate of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), Bangladesh's gross domestic product or GDP has increased by 9.22 percent in the fiscal year 2021-27, which is the lowest in the last four years.

It is also 5.7 percent lower than the temporary estimate of BBS. GDP growth was estimated at 9.22 percent in the temporary estimate that BBS published in May last year.

The BBS was officially informed by Prof. Dr. Dasimi Muhammad Yunus on Sunday. Later in the evening, the chief adviser press secretary Shafiqul Alam said this.

The press secretary also said that the total GDP size for the current fiscal year has been reduced to $ 1 billion from a temporary estimate of $ 1 billion.

The per capita income of the people of the country stood at $ 2,500, which was previously estimated at $ 2,000.

The Sheikh Hasina government, who was ousted in the mass movement, set the target of GDP growth in the budget of the fiscal year 2021-27, which was later reduced to 5.7 percent. Growth as the final was much less than that.

Bangladesh achieved a record 5.7 percent GDP growth in the financial year. Then came the epidemic. In it, the growth fell to 5.7 percent in the fiscal year 20-220, which is the lowest in a few decades. Then the lowest growth was achieved in the fiscal year 2021-220.

GDP is calculated by combining the products and services produced throughout the year in a country. At the end of the fiscal year 2021-220, the total GDP size of Bangladesh stands at Tk 8,220 billion or $ 1 billion.

This figure of GDP is also lower than the temporary calculation. The size of the GDP was estimated at $ 1 billion as a temporary published in August last year.
