Nordic Wristbands Cuts Emissions by 44% with Recycled Materials

Nordic Wristbands, a leader in event identification and smart access technology, has reported a significant reduction in its carbon footprint, cutting production emissions by 44% in 2024 through sustainable manufacturing initiatives.

The company achieved this reduction by switching to recycled polyesters and organic materials for their fabric wristbands and NFC technology components, bringing emissions down from 302 tons to 168 tons of CO₂e year-on-year.

New Ocean Plastic Product Line

Building on this success, Nordic has expanded its sustainability programme with the introduction of Recycled Ocean Plastic wristbands to its product range in 2025, further demonstrating its environmental commitment.

Measurable Environmental Impact

The company’s 2024 emissions reduction is equivalent to:

• Saving approximately 4,041 trees
• Recycling 69 tonnes of mixed waste
• Replacing 7,658 traditional light bulbs with energy-efficient LEDs
• Preventing the burning of 1.1 railcars of coal
• Removing nearly 45 gas-powered vehicles from roads for one year

The announcement highlights how material choices can significantly impact carbon footprints, even in small event products like wristbands.

Nordic Wristbands is now entering its fourth year of partnership with Stand for Trees, offsetting its unavoidable production-related emissions through certified carbon offset initiatives. This long-term commitment helps balance the environmental impact of manufacturing operations that cannot currently be eliminated.

The company’s sustainability efforts demonstrate how event suppliers are increasingly focusing on environmental responsibility, offering event organisers more eco-friendly options for essential event items.
