DC Adventure Park in Manikchari Park National Tree Planting Award

Manikchari DC Adventure and Eco Tourism Park has been nominated for the National Award-2021 at Battali Union in Manikchari upazila of Khagrachari district. About 5 acres of illegal occupied land was recovered and the park was built there.

On August 28, 2021, the then Deputy Commissioner. Sahiduzzaman inaugurated the tree planting program at the park and declared it as a bird sanctuary. At that time, about 25,000 saplings were planted in the park. Also, the extinct species of trees and different medicinal plants were also planted separately.

In recognition of his special contribution to tree planting, the park has been selected for the National Award in the second category. On June 7, the Joint Secretary Dr. Md. The information was given in the notification signed by Saifur Rahman.

Manikchari Upazila Executive Officer Tahmina Afroz Bhuiyan will receive the award from the chief adviser on Wednesday (June 23).

Tahmina Afroz Bhuiyan said the award at the national level was a matter of pride. He expressed his gratitude to the Divisional Commissioner, District Administration, local voluntary organizations and upazilas who contributed to the implementation of the tree planting program. He added that the park's identity will increase nationwide through this achievement and the arrival of tourists here will increase in the future. To this end, various steps will be taken to make the park more visible.
