Trump hints at a quick end to the Iran war

US President Trump has said that the ongoing attacks by the US and Israel against Iran are getting very close to achieving their original goals. He also said the war could end very soon, though not by this week.

Large rallies have been held across the country in support of Majtaba Khamenei, who has taken over as Iran's new supreme leader, replacing the slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Meanwhile, the US and Israel continue to launch air and missile attacks on various locations in Iran. At least 40 people were killed in an attack in the eastern part of the capital, Tehran. In addition, three children lost their lives in separate attacks in Lorestan province.

Iran has targeted US and Israel-linked installations in the Middle East in retaliatory strikes. Various installations in Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have come under this attack. At least two people were also killed in the Iranian attack in Israel.

The death toll from clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon has surpassed 486. About seven lakh people have been displaced from their homes.

The Iranian attack has forced several Gulf countries to temporarily stop oil production. As a result, the price of oil in the international market reached its highest level in four years.
