Iran's missile attack caused a fire in Israel's oil refinery

An Iranian missile attack caused a fire at an oil refinery in Haifa, an important port city in Israel. Initially, it is believed that the fire started due to falling missile debris. However, it was not immediately confirmed whether the fire was under control or not.

Air raid sirens sounded in northern and central Israel and the Jerusalem area on Wednesday morning local time. Shortly thereafter, there were reports of a fire at the Haifa oil refinery. So far no casualty has been reported in this incident.

The Haifa oil refinery has previously been the target of attacks during the Iran-Israel conflict. The facility was damaged during the 12-day conflict between the US and Iran last year.

Earlier, Israel carried out airstrikes on a petrochemical complex in Iran's South Pars gas field. It is one of the world's largest gas fields, part of which is controlled by Qatar.

In response to the attack by Israel, Iran is said to have retaliated against the energy infrastructure of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Following this, some parts of Qatar's Ras Lafan LNG complex caught fire due to Iran's missile attack. It is known as one of the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in the world.
