Abrar's father and brother do not want student politics in Buet

On October 6, 2019, Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) student Abrar Fahad was beaten to death by miscreants. After that murder, in the face of student movement, student politics was banned in this one of the country's educational institutions. Student politics is going to return to BUET before 4 years have passed since that incident. However, Abrar Fahad's father Barkat Ullah has given his opinion against the introduction of student politics there.

Barkat Ullah said, if student politics starts, the environment of Buet will be disrupted. I have lost one of my sons. I have admitted another boy there (Buyet). I personally don't want student politics to start again in BUET. My wife also claims the same.

Abrar Fahad's younger brother Abrar Fayyaz has been admitted to Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in the academic year 2021-22. He is staying at the house of Kushtia city on Eid vacation. Today, Monday (April 1) at 4 pm, this reporter talked to him.

There is a struggle to introduce student politics again in Buet, what do you want as a student? In response to such a question, Abrar Fayyaz said, 'Fifty students do not want politics, and five want it. But the opinion of these five people is being given more importance. Those who want politics in the campus, will they think twice before killing anyone, won't they? Allowing student politics means providing them with some form of indemnity. So that no one dares to protest from now on.'

Abrar Fahad was the only brother of Fayyaz. Their home is in Kushtia city. Their father works in a private company. Abrar Fahad was a student of electrical and electronics engineering at BUET. On October 6, 2019, his body was recovered from Sherebangla Hall in BUET. In this incident, Abrar's father became the plaintiff and filed a murder case at Chawkbazar police station. The court sentenced 20 people to death and 5 to life imprisonment in the case. All the convicts were students of BUET.
