A fire broke out in a clothing factory called 'Wex Fashion' in Savar. There were no casualties as the factory was closed during the Eid holidays. However, the factory equipment was burnt in the fire.
The incident took place on Eid day Thursday (April 11) around 12 noon in Rajfulbaria area of Savar's Tentuljhara Union. On receiving the information, four units of the fire service reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The fire was fully extinguished by 3 pm.
According to the fire service, 2 units of Savar fire station reached the spot after receiving information about the fire and started working to control the fire. Later 2 more units from Tannery Fire Service joined.
Savar Fire Service Senior Station Officer Nurul Islam said that the factory caught fire due to the explosion of the transmitter. Initially the amount of damage is Rs. 70 lakhs. The actual amount of damage will be known later.
