April is the hottest month of the year. As soon as half of this month has passed, people's life has become exhausted due to heat wave. Everywhere every soul is panting in the heat. The temperature exceeded 42 degrees Celsius. In this situation, the Meteorological Department has given bad news about this ongoing heat wave.

According to the Meteorological Department, the heatwave that is passing over several districts of the country may continue for the next three days. Also during this time there may be discomfort due to excess of water vapor. On the other hand, there is no possibility of significant change in the weather in the next 5 days.

The Meteorological Department also said that the temperature in 12 districts of the country has already exceeded 40 degrees. Along with that, very intense heat waves are currently flowing in Pabna, Jessore and Chuadanga districts. Apart from this, intense heat wave is flowing over the remnants of Khulna division including Rajshahi district and Dhaka division and mild to moderate heat wave is flowing over the remnants of Barisal and Rajshahi divisions including Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Chandpur, Rangamati districts. Heat waves may continue in these areas in the next 24 hours.

No rainfall was recorded anywhere in the country in the last 24 hours. Besides yesterday, Saturday (April 20), the highest temperature of the country was recorded in Jessore, 42.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital Dhaka on this day.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to close all the educational institutions of the country for seven days from April 21 to April 27 considering the health and safety of the students in the ongoing heat wave. However, if the temperature increases, the holiday may be longer, said the health minister today. Samant Lal Sen said. He said, understanding the situation, the holiday of educational institutions will be extended. Because we will not put children at risk. He told reporters after a meeting at the secretariat on Sunday (April 21).

At the same time, he advised children and the elderly not to go out of the house unless necessary. However, the hospitals have been asked to prepare for the adverse environment, said Dr. Samant Lal Sen.

On the other hand, 6 people died of heat stroke in the country including the capital Dhaka in this intense heat on Saturday. Among them, one person died in Dhaka, two in Chittagong, one each in Pabna, Chuadanga and Gazipur. On Sunday (April 21), a total of three people died of heat stroke in Sylhet, Pabna and Narsingdi's Madhavadi.
