India allows onion export to Bangladesh


India has allowed the export of about 100,000 tonnes of onions to six countries including Bangladesh. The Indian government informed this information in a press release. Khabar Economic Timesor.

Apart from Bangladesh, the remaining five countries are United Arab Emirates, Bhutan, Bahrain, Mauritius and Sri Lanka. A total of 99 thousand 150 metric tons of onions have been approved for export to these countries. However, India did not say how much onion will be exported to which country.

Meanwhile, Indian National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL) has been entrusted with the task of facilitating this export process. The company will procure these onions from local producers in India through an e-platform at competitive rates. Then these onions will be supplied to the designated organization or the designated organization of the destination country on the basis of negotiation. But for this you have to pay 100% in advance.

Maharashtra is the largest producer of onions in India. This year's onions will be collected for export from this province. Apart from this, the Indian government has allowed the export of two thousand metric tons of white onion specially produced for export to Middle East and some European countries.
