A ban on playing loud music has been announced in a village in Sunamganj

In Sunamganj's Chiksa village, 'music and playing' has been banned – the news is being circulated in various media including social media. Many of the locals are expressing their anger.

They allege that the news that is being spread under the title of banning music is false. It has been decided not to play loud music in the Chiksa village. However, there is no ban on the use of sound system in the waj-mahfil of the Muslim community and the religious activities of the Sanatan religious people, said the locals.

Chiksa is a village in Tahirpur Sadar Union of Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj. On Sunday (August 18) night, the panchayat and local people of that village held a joint meeting and took these decisions. Basically, Chiksa village panchayat decided on Sunday night that loud music cannot be played in any wedding or birthday event, i.e. using sound system. They never discussed that music is prohibited.

However, on Monday (August 19) in Chiksa village of Sunamganj, the news that 'singing has been banned' was circulated in various media including social media.

Shafiqul Islam, a local UP member, said there are elderly sick people in Chiksa village. Apart from this, children have many problems due to loud music. That is why this decision has been made. However, there is no restriction on the use of sound system in worship of Sanatan religion and in the waj-mahfil of Muslims. Chiksa village is 85% Muslim and is the largest among all the villages in Sadar Union. People of Hindu community also live in the village.

In this regard, the local UP chairman. Junab Ali said that the sound box plays 4-5 days before the wedding. Due to this, common people suffer severely. People can't sleep. Basically, they have banned the loud sound box from playing in the Chiksa Village Panchayat during weddings and birthdays. That is why the villagers have taken this decision.

He also said that there is no ban on playing the mic in other events such as waj-mahfil. There is no ban on singing and playing in various religious ceremonies of Hindus, including shrine ors mahfils.
