Severe heatwave is going on across the country. However, the north-eastern part of the country has been experiencing stormy rain for the past few days. In this sequence, the Meteorological Department has predicted a storm with a maximum speed of 60 km per hour over the Sylhet region.

The weather forecast issued for the country's inland river ports on Sunday (April 28) night said that there is a chance of rain with thunderstorms between 9:00 pm and Monday (29 April) 9:00 am.

According to the notification, there may be temporary gusty or windy rain or thundershower over Sylhet region between 9:00 pm and 9:00 am from West or North-West direction at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour. As a result, the river ports of these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 1. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Office has predicted rain in the Sylhet division for the next three days. It is said in the forecast that in the next three days, there may be temporary gusts of wind or rain with thunder in one or two places of Sylhet division. Also there may be scattered hail at some places.

Earlier, the Department of Meteorology said that currently a very intense heat wave is flowing over Chuadanga district. Along with this, intense heat waves are flowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Jessore and Kushtia districts. Besides Dinajpur, Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni and Bandarban districts along with rest of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and Dhaka and Barisal divisions, mild to moderate heat wave is flowing. The heat wave may continue in the next 24 hours.

However, there may be rain or thundershower in several parts of the two divisions of the country in the next three days. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. According to the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Sunday, at this time there may be temporary gusty or gusty wind or rain with thunder in two places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places.

Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky. However, day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country during this time. There may also be discomfort due to excess water vapor.

The next day, Tuesday (April 30) till 9 am, there may be temporary gusty or gusty wind or rain with thunder in one or two places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. Elsewhere in the country, the weather will remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky. However, the prevailing heat wave may continue during this time as well.

Also, the day and night temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged during this time. Besides, there may be discomfort due to excess of water vapor.

On the other hand, the weather forecast for next Wednesday (May 1) till 9:00 a.m. says that at this time there may be temporary rain with gust or gusty wind or rain with thunder in one or two places of Sylhet division. Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.
