A showcase of OPPO's latest AI innovations

The academic conference on artificial intelligence IJCAI (International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence) 2024 has officially started. In this year's conference, the latest research papers of Oppo AI Center have been officially selected. Oppo participated in this event with various cutting-edge AI innovations and benefits. Through this, the company has retained the top position in the field of AI phone innovation. Currently the main problems in the 12V (image-to-video) domain are inconsistent character appearance and poor detail retention. As a result training requires a large amount of video data and consumes a significant amount of computational resources. To address these challenges, Oppo AI Center has come up with the innovative Zero-Shot 12V framework 'PoseAnimate'. It uses pose information to control the animation's movement and maintain the consistency of the scene content.

This framework performs key functions through three modules:

* Pose-Aware Control Module (PACM): integrates various pose signals into text embeddings to control irrelevant content for characters and ensure correct movement alignment.

* Dual Consistency Attention Module (DCAM): Temporarily increases consistency and retains fine details of character features and background.

* Mask-Guided Decoupling Module (MGDM): Increases the fidelity of generated video by decoupling characters from the background.

Apo's team also proposed the Pose Alignment Transition Algorithm (PATA) to ensure character alignment and seamless transitions. Experimental results show that PoseAnimate outperforms the used training methods for character consistency and detail fidelity and maintains high temporal consistency in the generated animations.

Oppo AI Center Dr. Yang Zhenyu was invited to present at the IJCAI 2024 conference on “Generative AI for Smartphones: Challenges, Opportunities and Practices of Oppo”. He presented Apo's real-world experience to AI industry partners and academia. He also discussed how AI technology can be responsibly and efficiently integrated into next-generation smartphones at the international level.
