The emergency health service department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital has been activated after being closed for about 10 hours due to the attack on the doctor. In the presence of the Army and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), the emergency department services of the hospital were launched on Sunday (September 1) around 7:40 pm. Earlier this emergency health service was closed from 9:30 am.

He said, we have started emergency healthcare in the hospital. Adequate security measures are in place to ensure the safety of doctors. Apart from the emergency department, ICU, HDU and CCU have all the emergency healthcare facilities. This was done in consultation with the agitating doctors.

Earlier this morning, the doctors and health workers stopped all healthcare services in the hospital from 9:30 am. They announced a complete shutdown program with four-point demands.

After that, from 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the agitating doctors held a closed-door meeting with the senior officials including the Health Advisor, Dhaka Medical College (DMEC) Hospital Director. In view of this, Health Advisor Noorjahan Begum and DMEC Director announced the suspension of the 'Complete Shutdown' program of doctors. However, the protestors said that the program has been suspended for 24 hours conditionally, claiming that it is not right. They said that they would provide services only in hospitals where it is guaranteed, on the condition of appointing a security force member against every doctor.

It is to be noted that on the night of August 31, the injured from the clash between two groups from Sipahibagh area of ​​Khilgaon came to Dhaka Medical for treatment. Later, another group entered the emergency department of the hospital with Chapati. At that time, the authorities arrested four people and handed them over to the army. Later, the patient's relatives vandalized the one-stop emergency center of the hospital's emergency department in connection with the death of another patient.

At one point, three doctors of the neurosurgery department were also beaten up. Later, the doctors stopped the operation of the emergency department due to security concerns. They demanded that the culprits be identified and tried within 24 hours. Otherwise he announced to go on strike. Later they went on strike before the 24 hours of the ultimatum was over.
