After 37 days, Metrorail ran with passengers today

After being closed for 37 days due to the vandalism of the station during the anti-discrimination student movement, Metrorail has started passenger services from Sunday (August 25), the first working day of the week. Two trains leave for Motijheel from Uttara North Metrorail station at 7:10 am and 7:20 am.

Earlier, Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-6) Additional Project Director Md. Zakaria informed that the metro rail trial has been given on Thursday and Friday. It is possible to start the metro rail on Sunday.

In a press release on Saturday, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said that necessary instructions for passengers regarding metro rail travel will be available on DMTCL's official website and Facebook page. However, due to unavoidable reasons, the metro rail will not stop at Mirpur-10 and Kazipara metro rail stations and passenger services will remain suspended.

As per the published timetable, the two metro trains departing from Uttara Uttara Metro Rail Station at 7:10 am and 7:20 am can only be traveled using MRT passes. Metro trains departing from Motijheel Metro Rail Station after 9:13 PM can only be traveled using MRT Passes. Single journey tickets can be purchased from Metrorail stations from 7:20 am to 8:50 pm. MRT pass purchase and MRT pass top up can be done simultaneously. After 8:50 PM, all ticketing offices and ticketing machines at Metrorail stations will be closed.
