According to Anandabazar, the name of the movie starring Vishnu Manchu is 'Kannappa'. The film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. Apart from Akshay, the movie will also feature multiple stars. However, the makers are reluctant to give any information about how Akshay's character is going to be in this film.
Meanwhile, Vishnu has already announced Akshay's presence in the film on his social media. On his X handle (formerly Twitter), the actor wrote, “Our tour is going to be even more interesting with Superstar Akshay Kumar. I am proud to announce Akshay's debut in Telugu with 'Kannappa'.” Sharing the post, Akshay wrote, “Thank you Vishnu Manchu for such a welcome and taking me on your Kannappa tour.
Meanwhile, the makers have said that the story of the film revolves around Kannappa, a devotee of Shiva. The shooting of the film started in New Zealand in 2023. It is heard that Mohanlal and Prabhas have played cameo roles in the film. The film also features several southern stars like Madhu and Mohanbabu. The film is slated to release in multiple Indian languages.
Earlier, Akshay acted in several regional language films of the country. In 2013, Akshay acted in a cameo role in the Punjabi film 'Bhaji in Problem'. In 2018, Khiladi Kumar played the role of Khal in the Tamil film Two Point O opposite Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Now he is going to act in a Telugu film.
