Alleged removal of 14 cars of S Alam with the help of BNP leaders

It has been alleged that 14 luxury cars of S Alam Group were taken away under the guard of BNP leaders in Chittagong. The luxury cars were removed from a warehouse owned by Mir Group in Kalurghat Industrial Area (BCIC) around 12 pm on Thursday (August 29). Earlier on Thursday the Governor of Bangladesh Bank announced that no one should buy the land and assets owned by S Alam Group.

After that announcement, the luxury cars were removed one by one from a warehouse in the Kalurghat industrial area that day and night. These cars include BMW, Mercedes and Audi, Porsche and Range Rover etc.

Meanwhile, in a viral video footage, the luxury cars were removed from a warehouse owned by Mir Group in Kalurghat Industrial Area (BCIC) on Thursday night. Chittagong South District BNP Joint Convener Enamul Haque Enam, Patia Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary Ahidul Alam Chowdhury Pibulu and Chittagong South District Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Sheikh Mohammad Hossain Nayan supervised the removal of the vehicles. At the same time Chittagong South District BNP convener Abu Sufian's car driver Mansoor S Alam supervised the removal of the cars from the warehouse.

Locals said BNP leader Enam and others left the area after the luxury cars left the warehouse. In such a situation, there has been an uproar about the presence of BNP top leaders in removing the cars used by the Chairman of S Alam Group and his relatives.

It is known that on the night of August 5, the cars were removed from Nasirabad residential area of the city and kept in a warehouse owned by S Alam Group in Moizzartek area of Karnaphuli upazila. For the sake of safety, arrangements have been made to remove the expensive cars from the warehouse on Thursday night and keep them elsewhere.

In this regard, Chittagong South District BNP Joint Convener Enamul Haque told the media that the videos and news spread on social media are saying that expensive cars are being taken out of S Alam's warehouse. But in reality he went to Mir Group's warehouse in the city's Kalurghat industrial area.

He also said that the chairman of Mir Group is Abdus Salam and he is the Mamato-Fupato brother. Salam called him and said that some boys of BNP have demanded money from him. So he accompanied BNP leader Sufyan to a warehouse owned by Mir Group in Kalurghat Industrial Area (BCIC). He did not know whose cars were there. He said that he went there to support Salam because of his kinship.
