The interim government has planned to change ambassadors in 20 other countries as part of the reshuffle of various missions in Bangladesh.
Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder gave this information in response to a question at a regular press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Tuesday (December 10).
He said the proposals of political parties regarding the removal of ambassadors were actively considered. Several ambassadors are going to PLR in December. A decision was made to repatriate them and the process of appointing new ambassadors for 20 countries began.
After the interim government took over, the ambassadors of several countries have been moved following a series of changes in various fields. Contracts of many officers employed on contract or deputation, which are still ongoing, have been cancelled.
In this regard, the Deputy Press Secretary also said that due to the administrative process, official announcements are not being made on these matters, but the process of change is continuing.
Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and Deputy Press Secretary Apoorba Jahangir were also present in the press conference.
