Arab countries have rejected Israel's announced plan to open the Rafah border crossing one-way. Al-Jazeera Online reported the information on Saturday.
According to Israel's plan, Palestinians will be able to leave their territory, but not return. In addition, aid will be blocked from entering Gaza.
Israel has violated the ceasefire nearly 600 times in the past seven weeks. Three people were killed in the latest Israeli attack on the northern town of Beit Lahiya on Saturday.
The foreign ministers of Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint statement on Friday. It expressed “deep concern” over the Israeli military's recent announcement that “the Rafah crossing will be opened in the coming days for the exit of residents from the Gaza Strip to Egypt.”
The ceasefire violation was announced on Wednesday by the Israeli military unit 'Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories'. It said that one-way crossings would be allowed with Israeli 'security approval' in coordination with Egypt.
Egypt and signatories to the mediation agreement condemned the plan, saying they “absolutely reject any attempt to expel the Palestinian people from their land.”
