At the end of five rounds, Noshin was on top

The 'Walton 42nd National Women's Chess Competition-2024' is being sponsored by Walton Hitech Industries Plc, a sports friendly organization. The game of the fifth round of this competition was held today Friday (24 May, 2024) afternoon at the sports hall of Bangladesh Chess Federation.

At the end of five rounds, last time's national women's champion, Bangladesh Navy's women's fide master Noshin Anjum is single-handedly at the top of the points list with four and a half points. Bangladesh Navy's Wadifa Ahmed and Comilla's female candidate Master Nushrat Jahan Alo are joint second with four points. Bangladesh Navy's female candidate Master Ahmed Waliza is third with three and a half points.

In the fifth round match, women's fide master Noshin Anjum defeated women's international master Sharmin Sultana Shireen of Bangladesh Ansar. Women's Fide Master Noshin Anjum won in 45 moves against the Catalan opening style of Women's International Master Sharmin Sultana Shirin with black knuckles.

Women's fide master Wadifa Ahmed defeated her team's women's candidate master Warsia Khushboo. Women's Fide master Wadifa Ahmed won in 29 moves, playing the Sicilian defense with black knuckles.

Female Candidate Master Nushrat Jahan Alo defeated International Female Master Rani Hamid of Bangladesh Ansar. Female Candidate Master Nushrat Jahan Alo won in 26 moves by playing the Caro-Kan defense with black knuckles.

Female Candidate Master Ahmed Waliza drew with Bangladesh Navy Female Candidate Master Kazi Zareen Tasnim. Female candidate master Ahmed Waliza adopted the Sicilian defense with black knuckles, Taimanov analysis style, the game was drawn in 36 moves.

Neelabha Chowdhury of Narail defeated Candidate Master Ishrat Jahan Diwa of Gopalganj. Nilava Chowdhury played against the Sicilian defense of candidate master Ishrat Jahan Dibar of Gopalganj with white knuckles and won in 43 moves.

Tabassum Sadia Shahjahan defeated Master Jannatul Ferdous in Bangladesh Police Women's Fide. Tabassum Sadia Shahjahan wins against chale fide master Jannatul Ferdous in an orthodox defense style game of Queen's Gambit Declined with White Knuckles.

The sixth round will start tomorrow Saturday (May 25, 2024) at 3 PM at the same venue.

Under the management of Bangladesh Chess Federation, this 11-day round robin league tournament will continue till May 30. The competition will start from 3 pm daily. Winners will be awarded cash prizes.
