The attack took place at Bashundhara Group's Eastwest Media Limited complex. Around 2.30 pm on Monday, a procession of hundreds of people suddenly came in front of East West Media Group located in Bashundhara residential area. They had hockey sticks in their hands.
They forced open the main gate and entered inside shouting slogans. Vandalism started at some point. Miscreants broke into Radio Capital and ransacked. Tables, computers, ACs were vandalized there.
Along with East West Media Group, the three buildings house Kale Kanth, Bangladesh Pratid, Daily Sun, BanglaNews 24, News 24 Channel, T-Sports and Capital FM Radio.
Regarding the attack, coordinator Abu Bakr Majumdar said that the attackers in the media office had no connection with the anti-discrimination student movement. Action will be taken against the culprits.
