Attack on Khaleda Zia's convoy: Case against 113 people including Sheikh Hasina
A case has been filed against 113 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for allegedly attacking BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's convoy in 2015 in the capital's caravan market. A case has been filed against 113 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for allegedly attacking BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's convoy in 2015 in the capital's caravan market. Bellal Hossain, general secretary of BNP, Ward No. 26 of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, filed the case as a plaintiff in Tejgaon Police Station of the capital.
It is said in the statement that on April 20, 2015, Khaleda Zia participated in the election campaign on behalf of BNP's nominated candidate Tabith Awal for the post of Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation. Between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, the leaders and activists of Awami League and its various affiliates carried out an armed attack on the road in front of Karwan Bazar Bapex Bhavan, Palli Bhavan, Family Planning Office and Kabyaks Super Market to kill former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. In that attack, all the vehicles of Begum Khaleda Zia's convoy were vandalized and many BNP leaders including CSF security guards were seriously injured. Although the Tejgaon police wanted to cooperate in the matter, they played a silent role. Due to political influence, I could not file a case at the time of the incident.
In this declaration, names of 5 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal are mentioned as order givers. Besides, the names of 7 people are mentioned as donors. And the names of 101 people were mentioned as attackers in the statement of the case. At the same time, another 500 to 700 unidentified miscreants and attackers are said to have participated in the incident.
