Bangladesh defeated India in the final of the series


Bangladesh reached the final after defeating India in SAFF U-20 Championship. Bangladesh beat India 4-3 in a tiebreaker in Kathmandu, Nepal. The game was tied 1-1 at the scheduled time.

Bangladesh took the lead by scoring first in the match held on Monday. They took a step towards the final. Later, India U-20 football team equalized by scoring a goal. Then the match went to a tiebreaker. Bangladesh youth won there 4-3 goals.

In the second semi-final, however, Bangladesh advanced at the beginning. Asadul Molla broke the deadlock in the 36th minute of the match. Rabbi Hossain Rahul wanted to put the ball into the Indian net with a corner shot from the left end. However, India's goalkeeper Priyansh Dubey prevented it. But Asadul found the address of the net in the return shot. Bangladesh went into the break ahead with his goal.

In the middle of the second half, Bangladesh goalkeeper Mehdi Hasan Shravan collided with Gogamsar Gowari while blocking the ball. He was sent to the hospital after receiving care for some time in the field. So Asif had to come down as a substitute goalkeeper. He digested the goal before settling down. In the 75th minute, captain Ricky Meitei Howbam made India equal from Naoba Meitei Pangambam's cutback.

At the end, however, there was no less drama. Bangladesh's Kamakai Marma was shown a red card for obstructing the Indian goalkeeper in the fifth minute of added time. If the score is 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, the game will be played in a tiebreaker. Asif also got a chance to break the curse. In the first penalty, he blocked the shot taken by Thangalsun Gangt of India by jumping to the right side. However, the goalkeeper failed to block the next three shots. However, Akash Tirak, who came to take the last penalty, jumped to the left and blocked the shot. Blocked India's way to the final.

Bangladesh, however, took one shot less. However, Piyas Ahmed Nova, Moinul Islam Moin, Shakeel Ahad Tapu and Ashraful Haque Asif scored in each of the four shots. Bangladesh will face the host Nepal in the final on August 28.

Bangladesh will fight to win the SAFF Under-20 title on August 28. In the final match, Bangladesh Youth's rival is host Nepal. Earlier, Bangladesh lost against Nepal in the group stage.
