T20 World Cup is not even a month away. The five-match series against Zimbabwe at home is also coming to an end. The last of the five T20s will start at 10 am at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday (May 12). Bangladesh will take the field for the first time at 10 am in the shortened version of cricket.
This match will be played at the same time as the World Cup match on US soil. Bangladesh will play two matches in the World Cup in the morning local time of the United States. The cricketers are coming to play in the series with the main aim of preparing for the World Cup. But in every match, there is a big flaw in the batting.
Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto called yesterday's batting disappointing. In the last match, Shanto said that he expected to play with the bat, 'disappointing'. The way Tamim and Soumya played was positive, the wicket was not easy though, we knew that and hopefully we will do better in the next match.'
“We started well with the bat, we bowled well, but we have to bat better in the next match. Our pacers were good and we were more confident with Shakib-Mostafizur coming back. Hopefully, some of our batsmen will return to form soon' added Shanto.
Both teams had a one-day break before the last match. However, no one had a connection with the bat-ball that day. The Bangladesh team rested at the hotel. Some members from Zimbabwe visited a school in the capital. The rest rested at the hotel.
Bangladesh went into the last match with three changes in the XI. Shakib Al Hasan, Mostafizur Rahman and Soumya Sarkar returned from injury. None of the three were in the squad for the first three matches. Bangladesh can come down with an unchanged XI tomorrow as well.
The management has rested opener Liton Das in the fourth T20I after a series of failures. The Tanjeed-Soumya pair showed potential in the opening, the team management may want to have another look at that tomorrow.
After this match, the World Cup mission of the Red Green representatives will begin with a tour of the United States. Shantar's team is scheduled to fly to the US on May 15. Bangladesh will play a three-match T20 series against the country. It will start from 21 May.
