A Bangladeshi youth named Anwar Hossain (50) was killed in firing by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Comilla's Burichong border. The incident took place at Jamtala border area of Bakshimul Union of the upazila at 8 am on Sunday (June 9).
The deceased Anwar Hossain is the son of late Charu Mia of Mirpur village of Burichong upazila.
Burichong police station officer-in-charge Abul Hasnat Khandkar confirmed the matter. He said, in the morning, we came to know that a Bangladeshi was killed by BSF firing on the Indian border. His mutilated body was found in the adjoining area. But we still don't know why this happened.
Local Union Parishad (UP) member. Abul Kashem said that BSF fired at Jamtala border. I heard that Anwar Hossain was killed. I am trying to contact his family.
