Benazir and Matiur submitted their assets statement to the ACC

Finally, former IGP of Police Benazir Ahmed and former officer of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman, who was discussed in the goat case, have submitted the statement of assets to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

After two extension of time, last Thursday they submitted the account of assets including family. A senior ACC official confirmed the matter on Sunday (September 1).

However, the organization will take the next step after verifying the account given by them and what is found in the investigation of the ACC. Cases will be filed if illegal assets are found beyond the declared income.

The information about the huge wealth of former police officer Benjir and revenue officer Motiur has come out before this.

According to the ACC, till now 697 bighas of land, 19 company shares, 12 flats in Dhaka, savings certificates of Tk 30 lakh, 33 bank accounts and 3 BO accounts have been found in the name of Benazir and his family. These assets have been seized and frozen by court order.

Meanwhile, the ACC has received information about at least 65 bigha of land, 8 flats, 2 resorts and picnic spots and 3 industrial establishments in the name of Motiur and his relatives. Bank accounts, mobile financial services accounts and stock market BO accounts in the name of Matiur Rahman and his family members have been seized.

Earlier, on June 24, the court banned Matiur and his first wife and child from traveling abroad.
