Body of KNF member recovered in Bandarban

Police recovered the bullet-riddled body of a member of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) at Ruma in Bandarban. On Wednesday (May 12) morning, the body was recovered from Zurbarang Para area of ​​Paindu UP No. 1 of Ruma Upazila.

The deceased has been identified as Bhan Lal Khiang Bom (30). He is the son of Lal Min Sam Bom, a resident of Jurbarang Para.

According to local and police sources, locals informed the police after seeing the bullet-riddled body in the forest of Jurvarang Para area on the Bandarban-Rangamati border. Later, the police recovered the body from the spot. He is believed to have been killed in a gunfight during an ongoing anti-terrorist operation by joint forces as the body was wearing the clothes of members of the Kuki-Chin National Front.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Hossain confirmed the matter. Raihan Kazemi told Dhaka Post that the KNF member was killed in the operation of the joint forces. The body was recovered from the spot and sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
