Theft has been reported at the Fortune Shopping Mall in Malibag in the capital. On Wednesday (October 8th), the Shumpa Jewelers of the shopping mall came after the burqa from the shopping mall and looted about 5 gold and cash.
Members of the police units and crime investigations (CID) visited the spot on Thursday morning after reporting the theft.
According to police and local sources, two thieves wearing a burqa entered the shopping mall around 8pm and entered the shop by cutting the lock of Shumpa Jewelers. Although their appearance is not clear in CCTV footage, the movement and actions are held.
The owner of the shop said that a total of 5 gold gold was sold in his shop, along with 5 more mortgage gold and about Tk 5,000 was kept in cash. Everything is taken by the thieves.
He said, “Every day, I closed the shop at 9pm on Wednesday and went home. Later, when the door of the market was reported on the market, I came to see the whole shop empty.”
Assistant Police Commissioner of Ramna Division Mazharul Islam said, “According to the owner's complaint, about 5 gold has been stolen. The matter is being investigated seriously.”
Just a few days before that, on Sunday, about 120 gold and Tk 1 lakh were stolen from a jewelry shop in Jatrabari. Police are also investigating the CCTV analysis of the incident.
