Born in the middle of the flood, the child was named Flood

Nargis Akhter took shelter in the shelter as the house was inundated by the flood. When labor pains suddenly started, volunteers came forward. They quickly took him to the hospital. Then a son was born naturally. The volunteers named 'Plabon'.

Nargis Akhter went into labor while she was in the Noakhali University of Science and Technology auditorium shelter. Then he was quickly admitted to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital through volunteers, and the newborn saw the light of day through normal delivery. On Saturday (August 24), the mother and the newborn were together at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall of the university.

It is known that Nargis Akhtar is the wife of Abdur Rahman of Baju Karigar's house in Dharampur Union, adjacent to the university. They took shelter in the Noakhali University of Science and Technology auditorium shelter when the flood water rose in their house. Then, with the help of university students, the new born was named Azmaine Rahman Plaban at the request of his mother.

Day laborer Abdur Rahman said, the student uncles were by my wife's side during her difficult time. We are still with them. My son is healthy. So we will keep the name given by them. We will have memories. Thank you students.

Plaban's mother, Nargis Akhter, said that the girls of the university gave me the opportunity to stay in the hall. Loves me and my baby. We will always remember them. May Allah bless them.

University students Tamanna Ferdous Tammi and Zebaida Khanam Maria said, “We got the news of Nargis Akhter's labor pain while doing voluntary work at the shelter.” We took him to the hospital through our son friends Nahid and Shahinur. Alhamdulillah I brought them to my hall today. We have been able to give a name to the baby. We feel good. We will be in touch with the child inshallah.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Noakhali Akhinur Jahan Nila said, the students have done a very good job. They deserve praise. Government assistance programs continue among those living in university shelters. The teachers and students there are very sincere. They themselves are with the flood affected people.
