Mourning is going on in the houses of 6 people of the same family due to the tragic road accident at the toll plaza of Gabkhan Setu in Jhalkathi. The deceased Hasibur Rahman Prince, his wife Nahida Sultana, daughter Takia, son Tahmid, brother Al Imran and sister-in-law Nipa were in the private car. The private car wants to twist under the pressure of the truck at the toll plaza. 6 people of the same family and 7 people including the driver died. A total of 14 people were killed in this accident.
On Thursday (April 18) at 10 a.m., Janaza prayer was completed at Dakshin Southpur Dakhil Madrasa premises of Rajapur Upazila. More than a thousand people attended the funeral. Later, the deceased Prince, his wife and 4 children were buried in the family graveyard in Rajapur Upazila North Southpur village of Jhalkathi. The other two were buried in their own compound.
Besides, the burial of the remaining 8 people has been completed in their respective homes. The death of 14 people has cast a shadow of mourning in their area.
Jhalkathi Superintendent of Police Afruzul Haque Tutul said that the burial of all the victims has been completed at Gabkhan Setu Toll Plaza. Within four hours of the accident, we were able to arrest the killer truck driver Al Amin and helper Nazmul. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
Jhalkathi Deputy Commissioner Farah Gul Nijhum said that a 4-member investigation committee headed by Jhalkathi Additional Deputy Commissioner Sazia Afroz has been formed to investigate the accident.
