Case against 4000 Ansar

A case has been filed against 4,114 Ansar members at the capital's Paltan Model Police Station on charges of illegal assembly and obstructing police work to demand permanent employment. Among them, 114 names have been mentioned. On Monday (August 26), Sub-Inspector Sajjad Hossain Bhuia of Paltan Police Station filed the case as the plaintiff. 95 Ansar members have been arrested in this case. They will be produced in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka.

To demand the nationalization of their jobs, around 10,000 Ansar members gathered together and surrounded the secretariat and took seven advisers of the interim government and other senior officials of the secretariat hostage.

In the afternoon the Director General, Ansar and VDP came to the Secretariat and accepted all the demands of the Ansar members.

At that time, the excited Ansar members ambushed the students present at the spot and attacked the army patrol guarding the secretariat with sticks and pelted bricks. Later, additional troops were deployed in the Secretariat area and the Ansar was dispersed and the situation was brought under control.
