Case against three police officers for missing college student

A case has been registered against three police officers for the kidnapping and disappearance of a college student named Rezwan from Benapole. Rezwan's brother Ripon Hossain filed the case in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Zakia Sultana as the plaintiff on Wednesday (August 28).

The judge ordered the Benapole Port Police OC to take the case as evidence. Alamgir Siddiqui, the lawyer for the plaintiff in the case, confirmed the matter. The accused are- former OC of Benapole Port Police Station Apoorba Hasan, OC Investigation Khandkar Shamim Ahmed and SI Noor Alam.

According to the details of the case, Rezwan, son of Mizanur Rahman of Benapole Mahishadanga village, was an honors second year student of Baganchra College. On August 4, 2016 around 12 noon, he was drinking tea at a tea shop in Rezaul near Benapole land office. At that time SI Noor Alam of Benapole Port Police Station and another person went there with a motorcycle. Then he wants to know Rezwan's name. When you say your name, he asks you to get on the motorcycle saying that he is looking for you. Then he left there with him.

When the family members went to the police station after getting the news, OC Apoorba Hasan forbade them from overdoing it. Otherwise everyone is threatened with disappearance. Later, on August 7, when the GD went to mention Rezwan as missing, the OC investigation officer Shamim Ahmed returned the paper saying that the writing was not correct. Then write a GD according to your mind and record it.

Since that incident, no trace of Rezwan has been found. Rezwan's family believes the police killed him and disappeared the body after arresting him. His family could not file a case in that case as the environment was not favorable at that time. At present, the context is favorable, so he filed this case to get justice.
