It has been alleged that the surveyor of the upazila land office has been hacked by the land robbers in connection with the case of land embezzlement by using fake documents in Sherpur.
The attack took place on Thursday (April 25) around 9:30 pm in Nandibazar area of Lasmanpur Union of Sadar Upazila.
While returning to the city on a motorcycle with a Naib after work from Kamarerchar of the upazila, some people stopped their speed in Nandibazar area of Sherpur-Jamalpur road. Meanwhile, as soon as the surveyor stopped the motorcycle, suddenly killed both of them from behind and one of them hit the surveyor's head with a sharp weapon.
Currently, the injured surveyor Shahidul Sherpur is undergoing treatment at the 250-bed district hospital and Naib Shahidul Islam of Kamarechar land office has returned home after receiving first aid. The process of filing a case in this regard is ongoing.
Surveyor Shahidul, who was injured in the attack, said that the son of deceased Jabed Ali of Krishnapur area of Losmanpur Union. The attack was carried out by Salim Miah and his sons. These assailants are marked land robbers. In their name, a case of land embezzlement is ongoing in the Sherpur CR Amli court with forged documents. Because of this, they have planned this attack.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Sadar police station in this incident. Emdadul Haque said that the police visited the scene. Police investigation into the incident is ongoing. Legal action will be taken soon.
