Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Hilariously Responds to Flag Football Star’s Callout

The Kansas City Chiefs have the benefit of having arguably the best quarterback in the NFL in Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has been instrumental in leading the team to back-to-back Super Bowl victories, and the Chiefs are favored to make another run at the championship this season.

Mahomes always receives tons of criticism, despite being the best in the league. However, a recent callout prompted a hilarious response from the Chiefs’ signal-caller.

The world has been abuzz with the news that flag football will be added to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and everyone has already been naming NFL players who are likely to get the call to suit up for the event.

This revelation angered U.S. Flag Football star Darrell Doucette, who immediately went on the offensive. He claimed that he is “better” than Mahomes, prompting plenty of blowback from pundits and fans.

Instead of Mahomes buying into the idea that he is “better,” he hilariously responded on X with a gif.

Though the gif is without sound, it comes from a past interview that rapper Fifty Cent was engaged in. Boxer Floyd Mayweather called out rappers T.I., Nelly, and Fifty.

Fifty was naturally confused and asked why he was called out by Mayweather, as he had nothing to do with the personal issues Mayweather had with Nelly and T.I.

The confusion is what Mahomes was singling out, which is hilarious considering he did not prompt the response from Doucette on flag football. Mahomes is among many NFL players who have not spoken publicly about joining the Olympic flag football team.

To Doucette’s credit, he has not backed down in welcoming competition for himself and flag football players to compete against the NFL elite. Still, to state that he is better than Mahomes is very dubious.

Mahomes is a generational talent in the NFL and has proven this numerous times. He already has three Super Bowl rings under his belt and is angling to lead the Chiefs to become the first-ever team to bring in a third consecutive championship.

Though Mahomes is one of the best NFL players, that does not necessarily mean his skills would translate as elite on the flag football field. Even so, for someone to claim they are a better quarterback than Mahomes is a bit ridiculous.

It will be interesting to see how many NFL players attempt to make the Olympic flag football team in 2028. For now, Mahomes will stay as confused as the rest of the world for being called out by Doucette.
