Closed ICT department's Facebook-YouTube, only Palak knows the password

The Facebook page and YouTube channel of the government's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department has been closed since August 5. Only former ICT state minister Junaid Ahmed Palak knows the password of this page and channel. He was detained at the airport while leaving the country on August 6. Then on August 14, he was arrested in the murder case.

Secretary of ICT department confirmed the matter. Samsul Arefin said that these were run by the former state minister personally. He didn't give the password. But they are trying to recover.

Meanwhile, the ministry did not have control over the ICT department's social media. Former state minister Junaid Ahmed Palak used to manage it personally, said Nahid Islam, advisor to the interim government in charge of the ICT department.

Incidentally, the ICT department's Facebook page and YouTube channel have been very active in the last 10 years. Department-related information and programs were regularly posted. Where did Palak go, what meeting he held, what speech he gave – these information, pictures and videos were given regularly. But after the fall of the government, Facebook page and YouTube channel cannot be found. The passwords of these two social media accounts are with former ICT state minister Junaid Ahmed Palak. A streaming platform called Dhaka Live and a digital marketing team managed the ICT department and social media.
