Dak Prescott Takes Shot at Jerry Jones, Cowboys Amid Contract Talks

Dak Prescott isn’t afraid to speak his mind amid ongoing contract talks with the Dallas Cowboys.

Prescott, who is entering the final season of his four-year, $160 million deal, has all the focus on him now that CeeDee Lamb has signed his four-year, $136 million extension.

On Wednesday, Cowboys owner and general manager spoke to the media about Prescott and said nothing has changed following the Lamb extension.

“You could easily say, ‘If you haven’t seen it by now, you haven’t seen it,'” Jones said. “When you look at a situation, you’ve got also got to weigh, ‘OK, what are the consequences of the other side of the coin?’ And so Dak’s situation right now for me, from my mirror, has more to do with our situation than it does with the merits of Dak Prescott being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.”

Prescott had an interesting response to Jones’ comments.

“I stopped, honestly, listening to things (Jerry Jones) says to the media a long time ago,” Prescott said to reporters. “It doesn’t really hold weight with me.”

Prescott also said he doesn’t need a new contract to start the 2024 season, but thinks it “says a lot if it is or if it isn’t.”

What would it say if the contract isn’t done?

“Just how people feel,” Prescott said.
