DC-UNO in charge of the president of the educational institution education

The Ministry of Education has ordered to give the post of the president of the governing body and school management committee to the district level deputy commissioner and upazila level administrative staff.

On Tuesday (August 20), the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education published a notification in this regard.

According to the circular, in the current situation, the post of the president of the governing body and managing committee of the private educational institution has been given as per 68 of the private 'Educational Governing Body and Managing Committee Regulations, 2024'.

Deputy Commissioner at the district level, designated representative of the District Commissioner and upazila executive officer at the upazila level as chairman of the governing body-managing committee of private educational institutions. At the same time, the designated representative of the Divisional Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner in the metropolitan area has been given the responsibility of the President. They will perform the respective duties until further orders.

Earlier, presidents of MPO-affiliated educational institutions disappeared after Sheikh Hasina left the country after resigning from the post of Prime Minister. Because, the Awami League leaders occupied the post of president of the managing committee of almost all private schools-colleges-madrasas.

As the president is absconding, five and a half lakh teachers-employees have to suffer greatly to collect their salaries even after the checks of the MPO have been released. Later, instructions came from the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board that in the absence of the president, the salary can be withdrawn under the signature of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and the Deputy Commissioner (DC).
