Death of death row accused while undergoing treatment in DM

Sulaiman Miah (52), a death-sentenced prisoner in Dhaka Central Jail's high security cell, died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The deceased Solaiman Mia is the son of Shamsuddin Mia of Rupganj Dakshin Noapara village in Narayanganj.

On Sunday (December 8) at 6 pm, he was taken from the prison to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he died at 8:30 pm. In-charge of DMK Police Outpost Mohammad Farooq confirmed the death.

Senior Jail Superintendent of Dhaka Central Jail Suraiya Akhter said that deceased Solaiman Miah (prisoner no-6891/A) was a death sentence prisoner in a murder case of Sonarga police station.

Before this, he was under treatment at National Heart Institution Hospital due to heart disease. The body of the deceased will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem as per the jail rules.
