Demanding money for transfer, LGRD warns

Fraudulent gangs are demanding money by talking about the removal and transfer of officials and employees of local government institutions in the identity of various officials of the relevant departments of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Officials and employees have been warned about this on Tuesday (August 20) through a circular of the ministry.

The Local Government Department of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives has issued a separate notification on August 19, removing the mayors of all city corporations and municipalities and the chairmen of district and upazila parishads and appointing administrators. At the same time, the vice chairman and female vice chairmen of the Upazila Parishad have been removed from their respective posts by issuing a notification.

According to the notification of the Ministry, for the information of the officials and employees of the concerned institutions of the local government department, it is being informed that there are allegations that some fraudsters are demanding money by falsely identifying the officials of the concerned departments of the ministry and talking about the removal and transfer of the officials and employees working under the jurisdiction of the local government institutions. , which is completely false and purposeful propaganda. Therefore, the officers and employees of all the local government institutions under this department are requested not to get involved in any kind of financial transaction being misled by such fraud.
