Demonstration-meeting demanding the arrest of former railway minister Jillul Hakim in Rajbari

Protest marches and rallies were held in Rajbari demanding the arrest of the accused in the attempted murder and extortion case of Chhatra Dal leader including former Railway Minister Jillul Hakim. BNP and Chhatra Dal held a protest rally in Narua Bazar of Baliakandi Upazila on Monday afternoon. The procession circumambulates the various streets of Narua Bazar. Later, Rajbari District Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Ripon Sardar, Rajbari District Zia Memorial Library Publicity Secretary Billal Mondal, Narua Union BNP Organizing Secretary Rafiq, Joint General Secretary Rashedul Islam, Hafiz, Niamat, including royal BNP and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists.

The speakers said that ex-railway minister Jillul Hakim, former officer-in-charge (OC) of Baliakandi police station, Abu Sama, Md. Iqbal Hayat, Baliakandi upazila Awami League, accused in the case of abduction, torture and extortion of Md Tuhinur Rahman, a member of the central committee of Zia Smriti Pathagar and former joint general secretary of District Chhatra Dal. Joint General Secretary and former Upazila Chairman Ehsanul Hakim Sadhan, Upazila Awami League Vice President Naib Ali, Nashir Uddin, Nazrul Islam, Upazila Awami League Vice President and former Upazila Chairman Abul Kalam Azad, Narua Union Awami League General Secretary and Narua UP Chairman. Jahurul Islam, Joint General Secretary of Narua Union Awami League Md. Kalam, Zillul Hakim's son Mitul Hakim should be arrested. Strict program will be announced if not arrested soon.

It should be noted that on January 12, 2014, he was abducted, disappeared and attempted to be murdered with torture for extortion. He was tortured and extorted 10 lakh rupees. 5 lakhs and handed it over to the court in various cases. He has to be treated in different hospitals in the country and abroad. Tuhinur Rahman, member of the Central Committee of Zia Smriti Library and former Joint General Secretary of District Chhatra Dal, filed a case in Rajbari's Baliakandi Administrative Court on Sunday afternoon. The judge in the case Moushumi Saha directed the OC of Baliakandi police station to lodge an FIR.
