Did Hitler really die in 1945? Hitler died in 1945, the story of escape is not true – say the team of French scientists.
Nazi German dictator Adolf Hitler did not die at the end of World War II, he escaped and lived for many more days – disproving such theories, a group of French scientists say they have found conclusive evidence that he died in Berlin in 1945.
A team of French forensic experts, after examining parts of Hitler's skull and teeth preserved in Russia, say they are almost certain that Hitler died of bullet wounds and cyanide ingestion.
The results of the experiment were published in a periodical named European of Internal Medicine.
Lead researcher Philippe Charlie says their survey has debunked many conspiracy theories about what happened to the leader of Nazi Germany.
At the end of World War II, on April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler and his newlywed wife, Eva Braun, committed suicide in a bunker under Marty in Berlin.
Eva Braun was poisoned with cyanide, and Hitler shot himself in the head and probably also ingested cyanide. Hitler married his longtime partner Eva Braun in the bunker the day before.
By then Russian troops had entered the outskirts of Berlin, and the fall of the Nazi regime was assured.
Hitler's body was taken out of the bunker by German soldiers, dumped in a pit in the garden of the Reich Chancellery, doused in petrol and set on fire. But parts of his body were recovered by the Russians and taken to Moscow.
French scientists say they are the first since 1946 to conduct experiments on Hitler's remains.
A hole was seen on the left side of part of Hitler's skull – possibly caused by a bullet.
They also examined Hitler's bonded teeth and found a bluish coating – possibly caused by the reaction of cyanide with the metal teeth.
There are many conspiracy theories about Hitler's death. Some say Hitler didn't die in 1945, he fled to Argentina in a submarine after Germany's defeat. Another theory says that Hitler went to a secret base in Antarctica.
Lead researcher Philippe Charlie told AFP that all conspiracy theories should stop after their research.
The news was announced on German radio on May 1, the day after Hitler's death.
Karl Lehmann, an activist who escaped from Germany, was sitting in the BBC monitoring office on the outskirts of Reading, 40 miles north of London, listening to a German radio program. He was telling the audience that an important announcement was coming.
