Doctors in Central Shaheed Minar with three point demands

Doctors are gathering at Central Shaheed Minar as part of the 'March to BMDC' program for three-point demands. They started gathering at Shaheed Minar from 11 o'clock on Wednesday (August 21).

The demands are-

1. It is ensured that no one can use the title of Doctor without a minimum MBBS or BDS degree;

2. Recognition of medical diploma holders as per BMDC Act is confirmed as Medical Assistant;

3. Ensuring necessary action as per BMDC Act against prescribers out of 73 medicines prescribed for Medical Assistants.

At this time, the doctors also demanded the removal of BMDC officials. Apart from this, they protested against Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) considering medical assistants who passed MATs, DMF, LMF as 'Diploma Medical Practitioners'.

It is known that the agitators have gathered at Shaheed Minar to avoid unpleasant situation. Later a delegation will go to BMDC from there.
